Overview of “Mitsubishi Inverters”

Mitsubishi inverter is a famous brand from Japan that is widely used in the market today. With different types of inverters, each has different characteristics and applications.

1. Mitsubishi FR-E800 Serires

Mitsubishi FR-F800 inverter is a series of inverters with outstanding features of energy saving. Especially, with many preeminent features for pumps and fans with wide frequency range and power range. Includes: Mitsubishi F800 inverter type F820 and Mitsubishi inverter F800 type F840

+ Specifications:

  • Voltage for inverter: 3 phase 200-240 V 50/60Hz
  • Voltage for motor: 3 phase 200-240 V
  • For 3-phase asynchronous motor 220V from 0.75 kW to 110 kW
  • IP standard: IP 40
  • Overload capacity 110% for 60s, 120% for 3s
  • Output frequency error: +- 5%

+ Application:

  • Mitsubishi inverter FR-F820 is commonly used for mills, mills, exhaust fans, conveyors, water pumps for motors that need to reduce starting current and speed control levers, connect monitoring systems and control for asynchronous motors with power from 0.75 to 110kW.

+ Application:

  • Mitsubishi FR-F840 inverter is applied to stamping machines, mills, rolling mills, heavy conveyors, cranes, etc. to control soft start, stop and connect asynchronous motor control monitoring system. with power from 0.75 to 315Kw.

2. Mitsubishi FR-A800 Series

This is the inverter with the highest level of performance and quality. As it is perfected in terms of driving performance, it is easy to use and meets safety standards. This inverter has 2 main series, FR-A820 and A840.

  • Overload capacity 200% for 60s, 250% for 3s
  • Output frequency error: +- 5%
  • Can connect to PC via Mini USB cable, setting parameters on the computer. Additional I/O cards, CC-Link, DeviceNet, Profibus-DP communication cards can be added.

+ Application:

  • This series of inverters are often used for cranes, mills, heavy conveyors, stamping machines, lathes, or loads that require large starting torque, complex applications with a capacity of less than 90 kW. In addition, the FR-A820 series is a replacement for the old FR-A720 inverter series.

+ Specifications:

  • Voltage for inverter: 3 phase 380-500 V 50/60Hz
  • Voltage for motor: 3 phase 380-500 V
  • For 380V 3-phase asynchronous motor from 0.4 kW to 280 kW
  • IP standard: IP 20
  • Overload capacity 200% for 60s, 250% for 3s
  • Output frequency error: +- 5%
  • Can connect to PC via Mini USB cable, setting parameters on the computer. Additional I/O cards, CC-Link, DeviceNet, Profibus-DP communication cards can be added.

+ Application:

  • This inverter series is used for cranes, heavy conveyors, lathes, stamping machines, mills, loads requiring large starting torque, complex applications with power below 280 kW. The FR-A840 series is a replacement for the old FR-A740 inverter series.

3. Mitsubishi FR-A700 Series

This series of inverters is designed with true sensorless vector control to ensure the highest level of driving efficiency.

Thanks to its advanced features, it can support wide range of variable speed applications such as conveyors and chemical machinery, and line control applications such as printers or winding machines.

Additionally, improved flexibility allows users to transform their VFD to meet their application needs.

+ Specifications:

  • This inverter series uses soft PWM control, high frequency PWM (V/F control, advanced magnetic flux vector control and real sensorless vector control can be used).
  • 200% starting torque at 0.3Hz (0.4 to 3.7K) 150% at 0.3Hz (5.5 to 55KW) with true sensorless vector control
  • Output frequency 0.2 to 400Hz
  • Signal set frequency: For analog input pins 2 &4: selectable 0~10V, 0~5V or 4~20Ma, pin 1: selectable -10~+10V, -5~+ 5V. For digital input: input by panel rotation or by parameter feeder.
    When using the FR-A7AX, it is possible to input a 4-digit BCD number or a 16-bit binary number.
  • Pulse sequence input 100 kpps, pulse sequence output 50 kpps.
  • Removable terminal block, compatible with the FR-A500 . family
  • Analog/pulse output: freely choose any signal such as motor current, analog voltage/output pulse, output frequency, set frequency, operating frequency, input power, output load power, motor torque, motor excitation current, energy saving effect, etc. FM and AM output.
  • Two RS-485 serial ports and 1 USB port make connectivity flexible.
  • Sensorless torque control can be used for winding/release applications. Position control as standard allows for simple position-to-position movement.
  • Real sensorless vector (RSV) control completes 200% of torque at speeds as low as 0.3Hz

4. Mitsubishi FR-E700 Series

The FR-E700 Series inverters are compact in size with features such as:

  • Overload capacity: 150% for 60s, 200% for 3s
  • Power range 0.1 – 15Kw
  • Output frequency: 0.2 to 400 Hz
  • Analog input: 2 ports
  • Digital output: 5 ports. Report the operating status of the inverter, report errors, can install ports according to each specific application.
  • Analog input signal: 0 – 10V, 0 – 5V, 4 – 20mA
  • Control mode: Forward / Reveres, Multi speed, PID control, communication…
  • Digital input: 7 ports
  • Digital input signal: 24Vdc, control Run/Stop, Forward/Reverse, Multi speed, Fault reset…
  • Motor protection function when overload, short circuit in operation.
  • There is a brake resistor connection for applications that need a quick stop.
  • Integrated additional screen connection port, USB port to connect to PC
  • Can add I/O expansion card, communication card.

5. Mitsubishi FR-D700 Series

This is an economical inverter series, compact design with full of handy features. Small form factor drive standards are available, making it suitable for entering the modern variable speed drive technology environment.

6. Mitsubishi FR-F700 Series

This is a series of inverters for fan and pump applications, or to save energy for factories and buildings in a comprehensive way.

+ Specifications:

  • Power range: 0.75K ~ 630KW
  • Output frequency: 0.5 ~ 400Hz
  • Special advanced energy saving mode for pump and fan
  • Output frequency 0.5 to 400Hz
  • 120% starting torque at 3Hz using simple magnetic flux vector control and slip correction.
  • Frequency set signal: Analog input pin 2 &4: selectable 0~10V, 0~5V or 4~20mA, pin 1: selectable -10~+10V, -5~+5V. For digital input: input by rotation of parameter feed panel. When using the FR-A7AX, it is possible to input a 4-digit BCD number or a 16-bit binary number.
  • The start signal has its own signal to run forward and reverse. Auto-hold type start signal can be selected.
  • Analog/pulse output
  • Any signal such as motor current, output voltage, output frequency, set frequency, load factor, electronic thermal relay function, operating frequency, input power, load power can be selected. output, motor load factor, energy saving effect, PID set value, PID processing value… output FM and AM output.
